[0032] In order for a subscriber to access the services provided by the IMS, he or she must register with the IMS. This registration procedure requires the subscriber to send some identifying information from the user equipment (UE) to the IMS. To initiate registration, the UE sends a SIP Registration Request to the IMS network, which includes an IMS Private User Identity (IMPI) and one or more IMS Public User Identities (IMPU), which are stored in the UE's IP Multimedia Subscriber Identity Module (ISIM) .
