Abstract

Method and equipment for random access procedures for a system information request in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, user equipment (UE) initiates a random accessprocedure to request system information. The UE transmits a random access preamble during the random access procedure. The UE monitors a control channel for a random access response immediately aftertransmitting the random access preamble for a request of the system information.
