37 results about "Ultra Mobile Broadband" patented technology

UMB was the brand name for a project within 3GPP2 to improve the CDMA2000 mobile phone standard for next generation applications and requirements. In November 2008, Qualcomm, UMB's lead sponsor, announced it was ending development of the technology, favoring LTE instead. Like LTE, the UMB system was to be based upon Internet networking technologies running over a next generation radio system, with peak rates of up to 280 Mbit/s. Its designers intended for the system to be more efficient and capable of providing more services than the technologies it was intended to replace. To provide compatibility with the systems it was intended to replace, UMB was to support handoffs with other technologies including existing CDMA2000 1X and 1xEV-DO systems. However 3GPP added this functionality to LTE, allowing LTE to become the single upgrade path for all wireless networks. No carrier had announced plans to adopt UMB, and most CDMA carriers in Australia, USA, Canada, China, Japan and South Korea have already announced plans to adopt either WiMAX or LTE as their 4G technology.

Process method for ultra mobile broadband characteristic

The invention discloses a processing method for ultra-mobile broadband characteristics. The processing method comprises the followings steps: S302, an actively concentrated access network of the access terminal determines whether to delete one or more characteristics and sends a request message for deleting the characteristics to a forward service access network; S304, under the circumstance thatthe forward service access network receives the requests for deleting the characteristics from the other actively concentrated members of the access terminal, or the forward service access network needs to initiate characteristic deletion, the forward service access network sends the message for deleting the characteristics to the access terminal; S306, the access terminal receives the request for deleting the characteristics and determines whether to delete one or more characteristics in a characteristic list, under the condition that the deletion is accepted, the acceptation message for deleting the characteristics is sent to a reverse service access network; S308, after receiving the acceptation message for deleting the characteristics, the reverse service access network sends the acceptation message for deleting the characteristics to all the actively concentrated access networks of the access terminal to inform the access networks to delete the corresponding characteristics; and simultaneously, after receiving the notification message for deleting the characteristics, the actively concentrated access network deletes the corresponding characteristics. Meanwhile, the invention also comprises a processing mechanism that the access terminal refuses to delete the characteristics.
