The fire extinguishing device comprises a fire extinguishing container, a fire extinguishing generating agent, a cooling agent and a starting component. Thefire extinguishing container comprises a first shell and a second shell, the first shell is provided with a first mounting groove, and a gap is formed between the groove wall of the first mounting groove and the side wall of the first shell. The first shell is provided with a spray hole used for spraying a fire extinguishing substance to the outside. The starting component is used for igniting the fire extinguishing generating agent. When the energy storage device is subjected to thermal runaway, the starting component ignites the fire extinguishing generating agent in the fire extinguishingcontainer, the fire extinguishing substance released by combustion of the fire extinguishing generating agent is cooled by the cooling agent and then is sprayed outwards from the interior of the fireextinguishing container, and thus the energy storage device is subjected to fire extinguishing. By reasonably arranging the fire extinguishing container and the spray hole, the stroke of the fire extinguishing substance in the fire extinguishing container is increased, the fire extinguishing substance makes full contact with the cooling agent, and the spraying temperature of the fire extinguishingsubstance is decreased.
