Abstract

An acetabular reamer handle and a method of reaming an acetabulum are provided. The handle includes a hollow shaft having a plurality of shaft sections including a distal shaft section having a distalend and a proximal end and an additional shaft section having a distal end that is pivotally attached to the proximal end of the distal shaft section to allow the additional shaft section and the distal shaft section to be adjustably oriented at an angle. The handle also includes a hollow neck part having a longitudinal axis. The handle further includes a drive line having a head part mounted forrotation about the longitudinal axis and connectable to a reamer. A distal end of the distal shaft section is pivotally attached to a proximal end of the neck part to allow the distal shaft section and the neck part to be adjustably oriented at an angle.
