Abstract

The secondary battery according to an embodiment of the present invention, which is to solve the described problem, comprises: an electrode assembly formed by alternately stacking electrodes and separators; a battery case in which the electrode assembly is accommodated; a piezoelectric element which is disposed on the outside of a cup part, of the battery case, that accommodates the electrode assembly, and which receives pressure and supplies power out of same if the volume of the battery case increases; and a perforating unit which has a sharp end and, when power is applied thereto by the piezoelectric element, the sharp end of which extends towards the battery case so as to perforate same.
