The method comprises steps of determining a segmentation position of an online document and an element node where the segmentation position of the online document is located according to the content height of the online document and the preset height of each page of online document; segmenting theelement node according to the segmentation position of the online document; and inserting a paging identifier into the segmentation position of the online document to complete segmentation of the online document. According to the method, the segmentation position of the online document is determined according to the content height of the online document and the preset height of each page of the online document, the element node needing to be segmented is determined according to the segmentation position of the online document, and then the element node is segmented according to the segmentation position of the online document so that the segmentation accuracy of the online document is improved; and a paging identifier is inserted into the segmentation position of the online document to complete segmentation of the online document so that a user can conveniently classify and typeset the document content of the online document.
