Abstract

The invention discloses a Cu2O-TiO2 composite photocatalyst as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The composite photocatalyst is composed of Cu2O nanospheres and TiO2 nanosheets according to the mass ratio of 1: 2.8, and Cu2O is the nanospheres of a hollow structure and is evenly loaded on the TiO2 nanosheets. The Cu2O of the hollow structure has the advantages of more active sites, high light absorption capability, facilitation of reaction molecule diffusion and the like; the TiO2 nanosheets have the advantages of high oxidation capacity, large specific surface and the like. The advantages of the Cu2O and the TiO2 nanosheets are synergistically enhanced, so that the photocatalytic performance of the Cu2O-TiO2 composite photocatalyst is greatly improved. Compared with performance of the TiO2, the activity of the catalyst is improved by 1.64 times. The Cu2O-TiO2 composite photocatalyst can well degrade a methyl orange (MO) wastewater solution under ultraviolet light; and the Cu2O-TiO2 composite photocatalyst is simple in preparation method, low in cost, good in reproducibility and unique in structure, so that the Cu2O-TiO2 composite photocatalyst has a good application prospect.
