Abstract

A system (1) is configured to be onboard an aircraft (AC), the system (1) comprises a probe (2) for collecting a sample (4) of a contrail (5), a chamber (6) for collecting the sample (4), a collection conduit (7) for transferring the sample (4) from the collection probe (2) to the collection chamber (6), and at least one device (8) for measuring at least one parameter characterizing the sample (4) in the collection conduit (7) while the sample (4) is transferred from the collection probe (2) to the collection chamber (6). Due to the system (1), there is no need to use a second aircraft following the aircraft (AC) for collecting the sample (4) of the contrail (5).
