Abstract

Exemplary embodiments of the invention relate to a method for transmitting data between a user terminal and another device. The method comprises the step of generating a signal for actuating an electromagnetic functional unit, wherein the electromagnetic functional unit is an actuator of a speaker of the user terminal or wherein the electromagnetic functional unit is an electromagnetic oscillating circuit connected to the user terminal. The method also comprises a step of actuating the electromagnetic functional unit with the generated signal in order to generate a magnetic signal by means of the electromagnetic functional unit, the magnetic signal carrying first data to be transmitted from the user terminal to the other device. The method further relates to a step of detecting a different signal output by the other device, wherein the different signal carries second data to be transmitted from the other device to the user terminal. The magnetic signal and the different signal differ in their physical signal type.
