Problems solved by technology

[0007] However, these improvements do not accommodate the sensitivity to external magnetic and electromagnetic fields that interfere with the useful fields detected by the Hall probes
[0008] In particular, when the sensor is placed in an environment that includes magnetic substances or sources of electromagnetic radiation, the sensor is disturbed, thereby distorting the signal provided by the sensor

Embodiment Construction

[0053] Description of the first embodiment

[0054] Figure 1A with Figure 1B Shown is a perspective view of a first embodiment of an angle sensor for carrying out travel measurements of approximately 8 degrees on a torsion shaft fitted to a steering column. The dimensions given below are indicative and may be modified for different specifications.

[0055] The sensor consists of three structural parts:

[0056] - a magnetized rotor structure (100), the magnetized rotor structure (100) being driven by the shaft of the steering column,

[0057] - The stator structure (200), the stator structure (200) consists of two gear rings (210, 250)

[0058] form,

[0059] - A flux collector structure (300) comprising two magnetosensitive probes (301, 302) and formed by two collecting parts (50, 60).

[0060] The magnetized rotor structure (100) comprises alternating magnets forming a tubular magnet having N pairs of poles (110), preferably but not limited to 7 millimeters high, rad...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a position sensor, in particular intended for detecting the torsion of a steering column, which consists of a first magnetised magnetic rotor structure (100) comprising a plurality of magnets, a second stator structure (200) comprising two rings (210, 250) extended by teeth (212, 252) which are axially oriented and interlocked, and a third stationary collector structure (300) consisting of two flux collection parts (50, 60) which define at least one air gap in which at least one magnet-sensitive element (301, 302) is placed, said flux collection parts (50, 60) and said ring gears (210, 250) defining therebetween a magnetic permeance independent of the relative radial and angular position of said second stator structure (200) with respect to said third collector structure (300), said collector parts (50, 60) each comprising an angular collection sector (310, 350) and it being defined that each collector part (50, 60) has at least one primary collection zone (311, 351) continued by at least one extension (312, 353, 354) having at least one secondary collection zone (313, 333, 363, 357, 358), in that the said secondary collection zones (313, 333, 363, 357, 358) end in flat extensions (359, 360, 316, 317) forming the two poles of said air gap and in that the transverse median plane (P) of said air gap intersects at least one of said extensions (312, 353, 354).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of position sensors, and more particularly, to position sensors for measuring steering column twist, although this application is not exclusive. Background technique [0002] The general principle of such a sensor is described by the applicant in European patent EPI774272. [0003] A position sensor particularly for detecting twisting of a steering column comprises: a first magnetic rotor structure comprising a plurality of magnets; a second stator structure comprising two teeth extending from rings, the two rings are axially oriented and interlocked; and a fixed third collector structure, the third collector structure comprising two flux collection parts defining at least one air gap between which At least one magnetic sensitive element is arranged in the gap. [0004] The flux collecting part and the stator ring define a magnetic conductance therebetween independent of the relative radial and angular posit...
