Abstract

An on-vehicle information display device (100) is provided with: an environment determination unit (115) which predicts occurrence of starting of backward movement on the basis of an output from an environmental information acquisition unit; an image processing unit (121) which, upon receipt of an image captured by a camera, generates an image that is to be displayed on a display screen; and a display switching unit which, in accordance with running condition of a vehicle, switches displays on a monitor screen provided inside the vehicle, wherein in the case when an occurrence of starting of backward movement is predicted by the environment determination unit (115), the image processing unit (121) initiates image processing for the starting of backward movement in advance, and then causes the image outputted from the image processing unit to be displayed on the display screen when a user performs an operation for starting of backward movement.
