[0115] When terms such as "up" and "down", "right" and "left", "horizontal" and "vertical", "clockwise" and "counterclockwise" or similar relative expressions are used hereinafter, these are only Refers to drawings rather than actual usage. The figures shown are schematic representations, therefore, the configuration of the various structures and their relative dimensions are for illustrative purposes only.

[0116] In this context, it is convenient to define the term "distal end" in the figures to refer to the end of the injection device that holds the needle cannula during injection and is directed towards the user, while the term "proximal end" refers to the opposite end, as in Figure 2A -B shown. Distal and Proximal refer to the axial orientation extending along the longitudinal axis (X) of the injection device, also as Figures 2A-2B published in.

[0117] When referring to clockwise and counter- or counter-clockwise in the following examples, it is understood that th...

Abstract

The invention relates to a spring driven multiple use fixed dose injection device with a content termination (EoC) mechanism. The housing structure contains a volume of liquid medicament expelled at a predetermined number of dose volumes of substantially equal size. Each dose volume is automatically expelled with the aid of a spring loaded with a force sufficient to expel an entire number of a predetermined plurality of predetermined and equally sized dose volumes. Each dose volume is prepared and released by moving the drive element in a proximal direction away from the initial position by a predetermined axial distance followed by rotating the drive element back to the initial position by the force of the spring, during which rotation the drive element rotates the piston rod to move helically. The content termination mechanism determines how many times the drive element can move proximally and includes a longitudinal track structure associated with the piston rod, the longitudinal track structure having a free length defined by a proximal stop associated with the piston rod, after a predetermined plurality of predetermined and equal-sized dose volumes have been selected, the longitudinal track structure having a free length defined by a proximal stop associated with the piston rod. The proximal stop prevents the drive element from moving in the proximal direction by an additional predetermined axial distance required to prepare for a subsequent predetermined dose volume.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an injection device defining a plurality of predetermined and substantially equally sized dose volumes for automatic delivery of a liquid drug. The invention particularly relates to an automatic injection device in which the expulsion of a predetermined and substantially equally sized dose volume is accomplished automatically by a tensioning spring, and in which a predetermined plurality of predetermined and substantially equally sized dose volumes can be made without tension by the user. Discharge with a tight spring. [0002] The invention also relates to a method for spraying a predetermined plurality of predetermined dose volumes from a spray device. [0003] A more general method of installing a torsion spring in any torsion spring driven injection device is also disclosed. Background technique [0004] Spring driven injection devices for automatic injection of dose volumes of liquid medicaments are well known in...
