Abstract

A connector includes a generally rectangular insulator and four rows of contacts. The insulator has two notched edges and a groove. Notch-like edges are provided on the lower side in the X direction and on the opposite side in the Y direction perpendicular to the X direction. A groove is provided on the lower surface of the insulator. The notched edges and grooves extend linearly in the Z direction perpendicular to the X and Y directions. Each contact has a curved portion and a flat end portion. The curved portions and flat end portions of the two rows of contacts closest to the side surfaces are located within the notched edge. The other curved portion and the flat end portion are located in the groove. All butt end sections are usually on the same level; check this with a gauge. When checking, slide the connector on the upper surface of the gauge, and insert the flat end part into each gap of the gauge. If a flat end part touches the side projection of the gauge, the connector is defective.
