Abstract

A printer prevents displacement of the printing dot matrix caused by reverse rotation of the DC motor when power supply to the DC motor is restored. When the power supply to the DC motor is suspended, the DC motor often rotates in the reverse direction before the motor rotation stops. The amount of reverse rotation is detected by an encoder. This amount of rotation is compensated immediately after the DC motor power supply is restored. After detecting the same amount of forward rotation as the amount of reverse rotation, printing is resumed by the print head.
