Embodiment Construction
[0023] As shown in FIG. 1 , the present invention provides a pump system 10 having an elongated hollow fluid line 12 defining an inlet port 14, an outlet port 16 and extending therebetween for delivery therethrough. Extended passage 18 for hyperpolarized gas. A first inlet valve 20 and a first outlet valve 22 are spaced apart within the fluid line 12 to provide interruptible and directable flow therethrough. System 10 includes a first pump chamber 24 defining an interior cavity 26 . A collapsible bladder 28 is secured within cavity 26 to define a gas cavity 30 in fluid communication with passage 18 of fluid line 12 at a location between inlet and outlet valves 20 and 22 . The balloon 28 includes a bladder wall 32 that also defines a cavity 26 to include a first fluid cavity 34 outside the bladder wall 32 and a gas cavity 30 inside the bladder wall 32 .
[0024] The pump system 10 also includes a fluid reservoir 36 defining a second fluid cavity 38 . The suction mechanism 40...
