The present invention relates to ambulance cots, cot systems and methods of using the same. In particular, the present invention provides an ambulance cot comprising a hydraulic system and a tip angle monitoring, recording and alert system, and methods of using the same (e.g., to transport subjects and/or to detect and/or record operational data related to cot usage).

An undercarriage for transporting a stretcher includes a support base, which is adapted for supporting a stretcher, a first pair of legs pivotally mounted to the support base, and a second pair of legs pivotally and slidably mounted to the support base. The first pair of legs is independently pivotal about the support base from the second pair of legs. In addition, a journaled member is provided at the distal ends of each leg. A bed pad is described comprising a padding layer and at least one sheet layer adjacent to the padding layer. The sheet layer is formed from a web of very fine polyethylene fibers. The padding layer provides support for the patient. The sheet layer comprises a fabric material that is comfortable for the patient to use. The bed pad provides a means for either adjusting a patient within a bed or for transferring a patient from one bed to another bed or medical table. The bed pad may also be used as part of a stretcher or separately as a bedroll. The bed pad may optionally contain gripping components and drapes.

A patient positioner for maintaining a patient's position during a medical procedure is provided. The patient positioner includes a generally rectangular body anchoring portion having a longitudinally disposed head and tail ends and two transversely disposed opposing side ends, placeable atop an operating table.
