Fishing jig with interchangeable jig head

A fishing jig system with an interchangeable jig head is disclosed for permitting a variety of jig heads with different configurations and functions to be used with a single jig hook and avoid having to remove the jig hook from a fishing line to reconfigure the fishing jig. The jig system includes a hook having a shank portion and an eye portion, with the shank portion and the eye portion meeting at a juncture. A modular mounting member is mounted on the hook at the juncture for removably receiving a fishing accessory. A fishing accessory, such as a jig head, is removably mounted on the modular mounting member, and the fishing accessory has a recess formed therein for slidably receiving at least a portion of the modular mounting member such that the accessory may be removed and replaced without removing the jig hook from the fishing line.

Fishing lure

A weedless fishing lure that does not have an exposed hook until a sufficient tension is placed on the line. The lure comprises a body having an aperture therethrough and at least one channel. A fishing line extends through the aperture and is attached to the shank of a hook. The hook is placed into a channel changing the direction the line runs from that in the aperture so that the line in the channel runs in the opposite direction than that in the aperture. The tip of the hook may be placed in the aperture or in a separate channel. Using this configuration, the hook will be dislodged from the body if sufficient tension is placed on the line.

Fishing lure assembly

A fishing lure assembly has a first multiple hook device, a second multiple hook device attached to follow behind and articulate relative to the first hook device, and a pliable dressing arranged to cover the points of the hooks of the two hook devices to resist snags. The pliable dressing can be a plurality of narrow pliable members arranged to span from a leading end of the fishing lure assembly across the points of the hooks, or a single member having an integral head portion with a plurality of long narrow bodies protruding from the head portion and spanning across the points of the hooks. A sharpened leading point or barbed head is provided at the leading end of the lure assembly for attaching the pliable dressing at the leading end. Variations in the hook devices, pliable dressings, and barbed heads for holding the dressings are also described.

Line connector apparatus and method

A knotless connector includes a body that is generally planar, having a top surface and bottom surface oriented generally parallel to one another, and generally planar side surfaces intersecting the top and bottom surfaces at corners. The body may include a slot having an open end and a closed end, and an eyelet positioned adjacent to the slot including a bore and a radial opening providing access to the bore. The tail end of a line may be wrapped around the body to form a wrapped portion of the tail end, and the primary portion of the line may be wrapped over the wrapped portion, through the slot, and through the bore in the eyelet. The corners created by the intersecting surfaces of the body create friction points to help maintain the line on the connector with the use of knots.

Fish catching system

A fish catching system includes a decapod-shaped lure having a body and a tail. The fish catching system further includes a sleeve or weight with an aperture therethrough coupled with the tail to provide an aperture at the tail thereof. A fishing line passes through the sleeve or the aperture of the weight, which secures the fishing line at the tail. The fishing line further attaches to a hook secured to the body of the lure, thereby placing the lure in a first position. Pulling the fishing line facilitates movement of the tail underneath the body to place the lure in a second position, and releasing the fishing line returns the tail to the first position of the lure.

Fishing lure assembly

InactiveUS20070101634A1Fish-hooksBaitDecoyEngineering
The fishing lure assembly is a completely weedless lure because hooks in the fishing lure assembly are completely retracted into a housing. This prevents the fishing lure assembly from snagging weeds or getting caught in debris in the water once the fishing lure assembly is cast therein. The fishing lure assembly includes a fulcrum about which the hooks are spring loaded. A trigger is rotatably secured within the housing. The trigger receives and hold the hooks in their respective retracted positions and, upon a fish moving the trigger, the hooks will be released to catch the fish.

Fishhook forming machine

The invention provides a fishhook forming machine. The fishhook forming machine comprises a transmission mechanism, a feeding mechanism, a tail forming mechanism, a barb cutting mechanism, a hooking mechanism and a separation mechanism. The fishhook forming machine is characterized in that a length determination mechanism used for determining the length of a fishhook forming base stock and cutting off the unnecessary portion is additionally arranged between the feeding mechanism and the tail forming mechanism; the separation mechanism comprises an air gun matched with the hooking mechanism, and after a fishhook is formed at the hooking mechanism, the air gun jets air to enable the formed fishhook to be separated from the hooking mechanism under the action of air flow. Automatic cutting according to the required material length determined according to the specification of to-be-produced fishhooks can be realized by the length determination mechanism after feeding, and accordingly production efficiency is improved, uniformity in material length is guaranteed, and uniformity of the formed fishhooks is guaranteed as well. In addition, since the formed fishhooks are separated from the hooking mechanism under the action of air flow, damages of the formed fishhooks are avoided.
