A method and device for secure data entry by sensing biological information and determining required data based on the biological information. The method may include: sensing a biometric characteristic of the subject; generating an expression identifying at least a portion of a particular finger unique to an individual user of the multifunction input device by associating the biometric characteristic with enrollment data; location information of the source location of ; and, based on the representation and the location information, generating a markup representing the desired data item. The location information or expression may indicate a subset of the set of possible data entry values, and the combination of the location information and the expression may uniquely define a marker representing a desired data entry in the subset of possible data entry values.
