[0036]FIG. 1 schematically shows a cross-section of a dual-layer DVD+R disc with various divisions and data recorded on the disc. Dual layer optical disc 10 includes an inner drive zone 12 followed by a lead-in zone 14 . Radially outward from the lead-in zone 14 is located a data zone 16 followed by an intermediate zone 18 . All said areas are divided into a first layer 20 and a second layer 22 . The data area 16 is further divided. Starting from the boundary of the data area 16 to the lead-in area 14, the data area comprises one, two or even more reserved segments 24 in the writing direction. These segments are used after video recording to store organizational data. In the currently used DVD+R-Video format, the reserved area includes exactly one reserved segment.
