Abstract

The invention provides a method for building a gateway device which provides an xDSL broadband access. The gateway device can provide a user with service functions which are the same as that under a PPP bridging mode and is provided with a TR069 management function when the gateway device works in a PPPoE service mode. The method includes the steps that the gateway device responds to a PPPoE dialing request from a user terminal and sets up PPP connection from the self body of the gateway device to a BAS; therefore, an xDSL port of the gateway device acquires an IP address; the IP address is distributed to the user terminal; a port used for the TR069 management function is registered; wherein, the xDSL port is different from the registered port.
