Abstract

A behind-the-ear hearing aid (1) comprises a housing (4), an ear piece (3) and a custom earplug (2), the custom earplug being adapted to fit the ear canal of an individual hearing aid user, the ear piece having a connector for connecting with the custom earplug, the connector and the earpiece having means for snap fitting engagement and means for defining the mutual rotational orientation. The invention further provides a custom earpiece for a hearing aid.

Description

technical field [0001] [0001] The present invention relates generally to hearing aids and earplugs for hearing aids. More particularly, the invention relates to a device integrated inside an earplug for connecting a behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aid housing to the earplug. Background technique [0002] [0002] Behind-the-ear hearing aids can be used for different kinds of hearing loss. The choice of earplugs depends on the type of hearing loss because the gain of sound obtained without feedback depends not only on the distance between the microphone and the output transducer, but also on the amplified sound leaking from the ear canal and transmitted back to the The scale of the microphone's amplified sound. For mild to moderate hearing loss, the output sensor is usually located in the hearing aid housing, and the sound is conducted from the output sensor through the sound tube into the earplug. [0003] [0003] Behind-the-ear hearing aids typically include a hearing aid hous...
