Embodiment Construction

[0038] from figure 1 with figure 2 It can be clearly seen that the device 1 according to the invention is designed to allow inspection of hollow objects or containers 2 made of transparent or translucent material, such as glass. In the preferred embodiment described below, the container examined is a bottle made of glass, but it should be considered that the invention extends to any package for liquids which, as the packaging constituent material, has a transparent or translucent nature. The device according to the invention is designed to detect the presence of foreign objects 3 inside the container, said foreign objects generally having a density greater than that of the liquid. The object of the present invention is considered particularly advantageous, but not limited to, for the detection of glass shards as foreign bodies, but it should be considered that the object of the present invention allows the detection of any type of Objects are detected.

Abstract

The present invention concerns an installation for detecting inside a container the presence of a foreign body (3). The installation comprises: means (4) for moving the container (2) so that it occupies a characteristic position wherein the foreign body (3) present is placed outside a confinement zone (5) of the container; means for moving the container so that it occupies another characteristic position wherein a foreign body present is placed inside said confinement zone (5) of the container; first and second imaging systems (10) adapted to produce at least one image of the confinement zone (5) of the container when the latter occupies its characteristic positions; and a unit for processing and analyzing the images produced by the imaging systems (10) to determine the presence or not of a foreign body.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of inspection of translucent or transparent hollow objects or articles containing liquids having in particular transparent or translucent properties. [0002] More specifically, the object of the present invention is to inspect such containers in order to detect the presence of foreign objects in the general sense that are denser than liquids inside the container. [0003] The object of the invention is particularly advantageously applicable to the detection of glass splinters which may be present in containers such as bottles made of glass. Background technique [0004] In the above-mentioned preferred fields of application, there arises a need to inspect bottles for possible glass fragments. In the prior art there is a first category of detection aimed at moving glass shards inside the container. Thus, in document WO 96 / 18883 a detection method is proposed in which the bottle is inverted to move ...
