Abstract

The invention relates to a partition electric heater with a spacing relation with a particle material filter. A system has the particle material (PM) filter including an upstream end and a downstream end for receiving an exhaust gas. The partition electric heater is arranged at a distance from the upstream end and is divided into N zones, where N is an integer more than 1, each zone in the N zones includes M sub-zones and M is an integer more than 1. A control module selectively activates at least one of the selected zones in the N zones for activating regeneration in downstream parts of the PM filter by the selected zone, and deactivates the unselected zones in the N zones.
