Abstract

A writing instrument comprising: a barrel (2) extending along a central axis (Z) between a front and a rear ends (2a, 2b) provided with apertures (3, 5) ; a writing tip (4) movable between an extended position and a retracted position; an actuating mechanism (20) comprising a plurality of parts for extending and retracting the writing tip upon actuation of an actuation member (6) ; and a cushioning device (30) enabling a retraction of the writing tip when an excessive pressure is exerted thereon by an user. The cushioning device comprises a spring member (32) elastically deformable in the central axis direction, which is integrally formed with a movable part (23) of the actuating mechanism. The part (23) is movable relative to the barrel (2) along said central axis. The spring member has a free end (32b) abutting the barrel and has a through hole (35) extending along said central axis. A stem (22b) connects the actuating member to the actuating mechanism.
