System and method for processing image data, computer program for performing the method and data storage medium carrying the program

Print data suitable for printing or displaying an image are generated by assigning print colors after color reduction using a process that removes color reduction noise and produces clear contours in the print image. A source data capturing unit obtains source data containing image data and / or text data in plural colors. A data conversion unit converts color data for each pixel in the source data to luminance data for each pixel. A color assignment unit assigns a printable color to each pixel according to the luminance level of the converted luminance data. Source data is thus converted to luminance data, and usable colors are then assigned according to the brightness values of the image represented by the converted luminance levels.

Display of generalized anaglyphs without retinal rivalry

General anaglyphs may be rendered using multiple primary colors to display the first and second images of stereoscopic images. Retinal rivalry in the anaglyphs may be avoided by using transformations which balance the brightness contrast in the first and second images. Certain primary colors may be advantageous for rendering anaglyphs in six, five, four, and three primary colors. A white primary color is advantageous for displaying a monochrome second image with a color first image. General anaglyphs may be dynamically created by a display apparatus using certain transformations and communication with external sources. Four-primary-color anaglyphs may be compressed into three channels for transfer to a display apparatus. A user may select the primary colors of the first and second images and the relative brightness of the second image. Several methods to display general anaglyphs are disclosed.

Vehicle light

A vehicle light can include a light emitting diode (LED) serving as a light source and an optical system for controlling a light distribution pattern of the light beams from the LED light source utilizing a light guide (such as a lens body having an inner reflecting surface). The vehicle light can project illumination light with a low beam light distribution pattern. The vehicle light can include an LED light source and a lens body serving as a light guide. The lens body can include a light incident surface, a reflecting surface, and a light exiting surface. The LED light source can have a rearmost end light emitting point from which light beams are emitted to form a bright-dark boundary line. Among the light beams, perpendicularly incident light beams not subjected to refraction can be projected toward the bright-dark boundary line while obliquely incident light beams that are subjected to refraction can be corrected to be directed in a lower angular direction than the bright-dark boundary line and to be mixed with the other light beams, thereby preventing color shading of illumination light from the vehicle light.

Image signal processing device and image signal processing method

A dynamic range is widened by effectively using an output range that is originally possessed by a solid-state image-capturing device, and an image having less color hue rotation is obtained.By using the fact that the margin until the amount of saturation electric charge is reached becomes large as a result of the amount of exposure being set to be low in a high sensitivity mode, an RGB signal having a wide dynamic range containing signal components of a subject on the high-luminance side is obtained. First, γ correction close to a power γ is performed and thereafter, the signal is color-space-converted into a luminance signal and color-difference signals. A non-linear compression process is performed on the luminance signal so as to be fit into predetermined gradations, and for the color-difference signals, color rotation is reduced using a power gamma and color-difference matrix clipping is performed.

Image conversion device, image conversion method and data conversion circuit as well as digital camera

An image conversion device is provided with a first buffer area for storing either one of even field and odd field of inputted dot sequential data and a second buffer area for storing the other thereof. A data transfer control circuit controls in such a manner that, during a period in which one of the two fields is written in the first buffer area, the other field, stored in the second buffer area, is read out in a color field sequential format, and during a period in which the other field is written in the second buffer area, the other field, stored in the first buffer area, is read out in a color field sequential format. A pixel interpolating circuit carries out an insertion-interpolating process on the field read out from the image storing unit, and outputs the resulting data. Thus, it becomes possible to prevent color breaking at the time of displaying motion images on a color field sequential type display by using a buffer area having a capacity of one frame.
