Abstract

The invention provides a portable electronic device, which comprises a shell, a ballonet, an air charging device, a falling detection device, and a controlling device, wherein the lateral surface of the shell is provided with an accommodating groove; the air charging device is arranged in the shell, is connected with the ballonet and is used for charging air for the ballonet to unfold the ballonet; when in a folded state, the ballonet is accommodated in the accommodating groove, and the ballonet extends out of the accommodating groove and is unfolded after charging; the falling detection device is used for detecting whether the portable electronic device falls or not and sending a detection signal when the portable electronic device falls; and the controlling device is used for responding to the detection signal to control the air charging device to charge the air for the ballonet so as to reduce the damage to the portable electronic device caused by the falling. The invention also provides a falling protection method for the portable electronic device.
