Embodiment Construction

[0054] figure 1 A wind turbine 1 is shown comprising a tower 2 and a wind turbine nacelle 3 positioned on top of the tower 2 . A wind turbine rotor 4 comprising three wind turbine blades 5 mounted on a hub 6 is connected to the nacelle 3 by a low speed shaft extending out of the front of the nacelle 3 .

[0055] In another embodiment, the wind turbine rotor 4 can comprise another number of blades 5 , such as one, two or four blades 5 .

[0056] figure 2 A simplified cross-section of a nacelle 3 of a prior art wind turbine 1 as seen from the side is shown. Numerous variations and configurations exist for the nacelle 3, but in most cases the powertrain in the nacelle 3 will almost always include one or more of the following: gearbox 15 (usually a planetary gearbox), coupling (not shown), some type of braking system 16 and generator 17. The nacelle 3 of a modern wind turbine 1 may also include a converter (also called an inverter) and additional peripheral equipment, such as...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for operating a wind turbine (1). The wind turbine (1) comprises a rotor (4) with a number of wind turbine blades (5), wherein the rotors (4) axis of rotation (7) istilted in relation to the direction of the incoming wind (13). The method comprises the steps of determining the azimuth angle (A) of the blades (5) and adjusting the pitch angle of the blades (5) inaccordance with the azimuth angle (A) to ensure a substantially constant angle of attack (AoA) during at least a full rotation of the rotor (4). The invention further relates to a wind turbine (1) anduse of the method.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for operating a wind turbine, a wind turbine comprising a control device and the use of the method. Background technique [0002] A wind turbine known in the art comprises a wind turbine tower and a wind turbine nacelle positioned on top of the tower. like figure 1 As shown, a wind turbine rotor with a plurality of wind turbine blades is connected to the nacelle by a low speed shaft. [0003] One of the consequences of the production of electrical energy by means of wind turbines is the generation of noise from mechanical systems (gears, generators, cooling fans, etc.) and aerodynamic noise from the blades. Noise emissions are not necessarily a problem for offshore wind turbines, but can be a problem for onshore wind turbines if not carefully controlled. [0004] The two most important parameters affecting the magnitude of the noise produced by a wind turbine are the angular velocity of the blades and the angle of a...
