[0016] The need to design, implement and maintain a runtime policy for each managed service in an SOA can make debugging a computer system with such an architecture difficult. This is especially true for more complex systems that include multiple services. Different clients may access each service in many different ways via several policy enforcement points; however in each case it is expected that the runtime policy should be consistent and faithful to the needs of the business policy, e.g. to avoid potential weakness. As systems become more complex (often changing and growing over time), it becomes increasingly difficult to ensure that the runtime policies governing services are properly aligned with business policies. Furthermore, the business policy itself may undergo changes, which should be implemented for all affected runtime policies.
