Abstract

The invention provides a system, devices and method for authenticating an IMS (IP multimedia subsystem) terminal during obtaining non-IMS services. The method is characterized by comprising the following steps: an authentication gateway is set, and the IMS terminal sends an authentication request to the authentication gateway via an AS (application server) providing the non-IMS services; the authentication gateway generates a random number, obtains the authentication data of a terminal subscriber from an HSS (home subscriber server) and sends the generated random number to the IMS terminal via the AS; the IMS terminal computes a response value according to the random number and the authentication data stored per se and forwards the response value to the authentication gateway via the AS; the authentication gateway carries out computation according to the random number generated by self and the authentication data, which is obtained from the HSS, of the IMS terminal, compares the valueobtained through computation with the received response value, confirms that IMS terminal authentication is successful after determining the two values are consistent, completes authentication and sends an authentication success result to the AS; and the AS establishes a connection with the IMS terminal to provide the non-IMS services to the IMS terminal. The system, the devices and the method have the beneficial effect of ensuring simple and unified authentication of the IMS terminal during obtaining the non-IMS services provided by different ASs.
