Embodiment

[0140] 1. A method of applying priority for a CSG cell, the method comprising receiving priority information for each of a plurality of communication frequencies on which the CSG cell is capable of communicating; storing at a WTRU said priority information; and applying said priority information to at least one of: taking measurements on a communication frequency, selecting to a CSG cell in said communication frequency, or reselecting to a CSG cell in said communication frequency CSG cell.

[0141] 2. The method of embodiment 1, wherein said applying includes selecting a highest priority communication frequency.

[0142] 3. The method of embodiment 1 or 2, wherein the CSG cell can have higher priority than non-CSG cells as long as the CSG cell is configured in the WTRU's whitelist.

[0143] 4. The method as in any one of embodiments 1-3, wherein as long as cell reselection is considered between the CSG cell and a non-CSG cell, it is assumed that the non-CSG cell has more low...

Abstract

A method for applying a priority of a closed subscriber group (CSG) cell, comprises: receiving priority information for each of a plurality of communication frequencies over which the CSG cell can communicate; storing the priority information at a wireless transmit / receive unit (WTRU); and applying the priority information to at least one of: taking measurements on a communication frequency, selecting to a CSG cell in the communication frequency, or reselecting to a CSG cell in the communication frequency. Methods relating to grouping CSG cells, indicating a status of a CSG cell (common or private), processing multiple CSG cells by a WTRU, reselecting between CSG cells by a WTRU, and manual CSG cell selection by a WTRU are also disclosed.

Description

technical field [0001] This application relates to wireless communications. Background technique [0002] Current efforts of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE) project are aimed at introducing new technologies, new architectures, and new methodologies in new LTE setups and configurations to provide improved spectral efficiency, reduced latency , and make better use of radio resources, thereby bringing faster user experience and richer applications and services at a lower cost. [0003] As part of these efforts, 3GPP will introduce the concept of a home Enhanced Node B (HeNB) in LTE (and also in similar fashion in Release 8 WCDMA, GERAN, and other cell standards). HeNB refers to a physical device similar to a wireless local area network (WLAN) access point (AP). HeNBs provide users with access to LTE services over very small service areas such as homes or small offices. The HeNB is to be connected to the operator's core network by using...
