Abstract

The invention relates to a centralized account password authenticating and generating system by means of which user identity authentication and password generation are both centralized in an authoritative authentication centre. The authentication centre shares a main key with a use, gives an ID to a website, carries out digital signature to verify the identity of the user and authenticates the authenticity of the user account password forwarded by the website. The accounts of the user on various websites are the same while the passwords are derived from information of the main key, the website ID and the like, wherein because a one-way function is used, even if a website password is provided, the main key cannot be reversely deduced, the passwords of other websites cannot be deduced, and the user can safely report the loss and update the password without need of authentication; however, a person having no main key cannot finish the loss report. By using the system, the user is assured to be able to register and update the passwords on all joined websites just by means of one account and the main key without need of authentication; and therefore, the system is not only convenient for the user to memorize but also convenient for website authentication.
