Embodiment Construction

[0062] Reference will now be made in detail to the illustrative embodiments of the invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

[0063] Various implementations of the present technology and related innovative concepts are described below, including some that involve an interactive lighting network that is aware of its environment. Among other applications, such networks are particularly suitable for intelligent lighting in bars, restaurants, stadiums, exhibition centers, museums, shops, shopping centers, nightclubs, dance halls, public transport, waiting areas, transitional spaces, airports. It should be appreciated, however, that the present disclosure is not limited to any particular manner of implementation, and that the various embodiments explicitly discussed herein are primarily for illustrative purposes.

[0064] The technology disclosed herein relates to lighting networks that can operate independently of each other and have access to com...

Abstract

Systems, networks, devices and methods for developing, implementing, and sharing lighting schemata between controllable lighting networks are disclosed. A network (101, 601, 701, 801, 808) in accordance with the disclosure stores lighting schemata developed for the network in a remote data store (802). Other networks (301) access the remote data store to select existing schemata for implementation. Systems, networks, devices, and methods for sharing user preferences between controllable lighting networks are also disclosed. Networks according to the disclosure may access a shared remote data store (112) to determine preferences of a user upon the detection, by sensors in the network, of the presence of the user. As such, individual lighting networks may make use of known user preferences or learned behaviors and environmental conditions to more efficiently adapt themselves to such behavior, preferences, or conditions.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention is directed generally to lighting systems and networks. More specifically, the various innovative methods, systems, and devices disclosed herein relate to developing and implementing schemas within controllable lighting networks, and sharing schemas between controllable lighting networks. Background technique [0002] Digital lighting technology, ie lighting based on semiconductor light sources such as light emitting diodes (LEDs), offers a viable alternative to traditional fluorescent, HID and incandescent lamps. Functional advantages and benefits of LEDs include high energy conversion and optical efficiency, durability, lower operating costs, and many others. New developments in LED technology provide efficient and robust full-spectrum lighting sources that enable a wide variety of lighting effects in many applications. Certain fixtures incorporating these sources feature a lighting module comprising one or more LEDs capable o...
