Abstract

An image forming apparatus and a toner replenishment control method are provided. The image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor; a latent image forming unit; a developer; a sensor that detects toner concentration; and a predetermined length of time during which toner is supplied and stored. A storage unit for storing a first variation amount of sensor output after supply toner of a standard toner falling amount for a predetermined length of time is supplied to the developer; a toner cartridge having a container for supply toner and a toner conveying member; and driving the toner a driving part that supplies replenished toner to the developing device by conveying the conveying member; a calculating part that measures a second change amount of the sensor output after the driving part drives the toner cartridge for a predetermined period of time, and calculates a ratio between the change amounts; and a control unit that drives the driving unit within the driving time of the corrected time length based on the predetermined time length in the correction storage unit calculated by the calculation unit.
