Abstract

The invention discloses a network carbide rating method of a wire rod for a prestressed steel stranded wire, which comprises the steps of: firstly preparing a test specimen: cutting off a transverse test specimen with the length being 5mm-15mm from the wire rod, and flattening, grinding and polishing the test specimen; then using alkaline sodium picrate water solution to corrode the prepared test specimen; and finally observing under an optical microscope with magnifying power being 500 times and rating according to the following rules: grade 1, including carbides without or with slight visible chain cementite which is precipitated along a grain boundary but cannot form effective measurement area; grade 2, including carbides of which the most are networked and the network area is smaller than 0.04mm<2>; grade 3, including carbides which are fully networked with network area being smaller than 0.1mm<2>; grade 4, including carbides which are fully networked with network area being smaller than 0.2mm<2>; and grade 5, including carbides which are fully networked with network area being larger than 0.2mm<2>. The invention provides a quantitative reaction network carbide rating method for the morphological characteristics of an 82B wire rod network carbide and therefore the degree of severity of the network carbides of the inspected product can be known at a glance.
