By controlling the charging switch and an IGBT (insulated gate bipolar transistor) module of the static synchronous compensator, the static synchronous compensator is charged at a direct current side firstly and then is connected to the power grid after charging. In the invention, the direct current side of the static synchronous compensator is charged and then the static synchronous compensator is connected to the power grid, thus an impact current is small.
