The method comprises the following steps of: detecting a signal intensity of a CMMB signal received by a mobile terminal; comparing the CMMB signal intensity with a predetermined signal intensity; and if the CMMB signal intensity is less than or identical to the predetermined signal intensity, switching the mobile terminal which originally plays a CMMB service to play a streaming media service. In addition, the invention also discloses a CMMB service switching device, which comprises a signal intensity detection module, a signal intensity comparison module and a switching module. By the method and the device disclosed by the invention, the mobile terminal which originally plays the CMMB service can be switched to play the streaming media service, in particular in the condition that the CMMB signal is poor, the switching of the mobile terminal between the CMMB service and the streaming media service is realized, the coherence for playing broadcasting program is ensured, and the user experience is improved.
