The invention discloses a method for multimedia conference comprising that: a conference is created after an application server received a request for creating the conference by a conference creator. While the conference is created successfully, an initial conference identification is generated and is notified to the conference creator and conference members; and when a multimedia conference is needed, the application server receives conference identifications input by the conference members and verifies the conference identifications. If the verifying is passed, the conference members are allowed to join in the multimedia conference. The invention further provides a system for the multimedia conference. The conference members can join in the multimedia conferencing by only inputting one conference identification through IVR and other ways in the multimedia conference system. The complexity of the multimedia conference is reduced and usage experience of uses is greatly improved by applying the method and the system of the present invention.
