The device is used for detecting connection strength between a first fixing part and a metal plate and comprises an upper clamping part, a lower fixing base and at least two second fixing parts; when the connection strength is detected, the metal plate which is connected with the first fixing part is fixed between the upper clamping part and the lower fixing base by means of the at least two second fixing parts, then by the aid of the upper clamping part, a tension device applies a set pull force to the first fixing part and the metal plate which are connected with each other, and deformation displacement between the first fixing part and the metal plate is detected to determine whether the connection between the first fixing part and the metal plate is effective. The invention further relates to a method for detecting the connection strength. The device and the method for detecting the connection strength are simple, convenient and low in cost.
