The invention discloses a safety manager capable of assisting a browser to perform software downloading. The safety manager comprises an inquiry unit, a judging device and a task execution device. A configuration of the inquiry unit is that according to a software downloading request of the browser side requested by a uniform resource locator (URL) of the browser side, the URL is inquired to decide whether the URL is a software downloading link included in the safety manager. A configuration of the judging device is that if the URL is the software downloading link included in the safety manager, entrance information of the software downloading link included in the safety manager is offered to a software downloading interface to be loaded. A configuration of the task execution device is that a select order of the entrance information of a user is received from the browser side and software requested to be downloaded is downloaded from the safety manager side. The safety of the software downloading and installation is guaranteed by a means of a concordance of the software management technology in the process of software downloading and installation through the Web browser, and therefore an effect of downloading and installing the software safely and rapidly is guaranteed.
