Abstract

The present invention relates to an automated storage cabinet for carts. In particular, the cabinet comprises a device for automatically handling a single cart with a handling basket consisting of: a vertical plate (2) which is arranged perpendicular to the waiting area and which is movable between the floor of the waiting area and any of the levels of the cart storage cabinet; and two side flanks (3, 4), which are rigidly connected to the vertical plate (2) and provided with a means (15) for supporting, on either side, two opposite sides of a cart in the waiting area, and for transferring the supported cart through an opening of the predetermined receptacle, the handling device being provided with means (10-15) for inserting the cart into or extracting the cart from the predetermined receptacle.
