Abstract

The invention discloses a digital phase meter and a method for measuring a phase difference between signals and based on phase-locked loop technology. The digital phase meter comprises a first analog low-pass filter, a second analog low-pass filter, an analog-to-digital (AD) converter and a core algorithm operational circuit. The first analog low-pass filter is used for filtering a high-frequency noise part of a reference signal, and the second analog low-pass filter is used for filtering a high-frequency noise part of a signal to be tested. The AD converter is used for converting an analog signal into a digital signal. The core algorithm operational circuit measures initial frequency of a reference digital signal to generate an orthogonal signal. The orthogonal signal is subjected to mixing and underclocking with the reference digital signal and a digital signal to be tested to generate a reference direct current signal, and then is subjected to arc tangent operation to obtain a phase difference phi a between the reference signal and a local signal and a phase difference phi b between the signal to be tested and the local signal. The difference between the phi b and the phi a is calculated so as to obtain a phase difference between the signal to be tested and the reference signal. The digital phase meter and the method can be widely used for measuring the phase difference between the signals, and especially for measuring the phase difference in a high-precision mode.
