Abstract

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for video coding using compressive measurements. The apparatus includes a decoder (205) configured to receive at least one measurement from a set of measurements that represent the video data and obtain a measurement matrix that was applied to the video data at an encoder (202). The measurement matrix includes an assigned pattern of pixel values. Also, the decoder (205) is configured to reconstruct the video data according to a total variation (TV) of discrete cosine transform (DCT) coefficients of candidate video data.
