The invention provides QR-code-based (quick response code-based) vehicle operation authorization and burglary protection system and method. The system comprises a master control module, a fingerprint recognition module, a QR code scanning module, and a vehicular burglary protection module, wherein the fingerprint recognition module is connected with the master control module. The QR code scanning module is connected with a cellphone module. The master control module comprises a decryption unit and a logical judgment unit. Vehicle application authorization and burglary protection are achieved by QR code technology; a vehicle borrower can start a borrowed vehicle only by sending a request to a vehicle owner who generates QR code authorization through a cellphone and who sends the QR code authorization information to a cellphone of the vehicle borrower; an unauthorized person cannot start the vehicle even having the key to the vehicle since no fingerprint of the unauthorized person or effective QR code authorization exists in the system; and accordingly burglary protection is achieved after key loss.
