The application encrypting method includes setting an encrypting file on desktop of the intelligent terminal, encrypting applications dragged into the encrypting file and generating a protecting password corresponding to the applications; generating a prompt for inputting the protecting password when detecting a start request for the applications in the encrypting file; verifying whether the input password and the protecting password are identical or not, if yes, starting the applications. Further, the invention discloses an application encrypting device for the intelligent terminal. Compared with the encrypting method for the applications of the intelligent terminal, the application encrypting method has the advantages that using is more convenient and faster, operation can be performed on the desktop directly, and operational complexity of users is greatly reduced.
