Robot arm control method and control device

When either a command value or an actually measured value is appropriately selected as an angular velocity used for the frictional torque calculation, the frictional compensation can be made valid at all times in both the case in which a robot is actively operated according to an angular velocity command and the case in which the robot is passively operated being pushed by an external force. In the case where a motor rotating direction and a collision direction are reverse to each other after a collision has been detected, the control mode is switched from the positional control to the electric current control and a torque, the direction of which is reverse to the direction of the motor rotation is generated by the motor, so that the motor rotating speed can be reduced and the collision energy can be alleviated. After that, when the motor rotating speed is reduced to a value not more than the setting value, the control mode is switched to the compliance control and the distortion caused in a reduction gear is dissolved. On the other hand, in the case where the motor rotating direction and the collision direction are the same, the control mode is directly switched from the positional control to the compliance control without passing through the electric current control. When the robot is operated whole following a collision force, the collision force can be alleviated.

Synchronizing clocks across a communication link

Apparatus, system and method for synchronizing one or more clocks across a communication link. A slave clock may be synchronized to a master clock by means of a synchronization signal sent from the master to the slave clock side of the link. The synchronization signal may be an expected signal pattern sent at intervals expected by the slave side. The slave clock may correlate received signals with a representation of the expected synchronization signal to produce a correlation sample sequence at a first sample rate which is related as n times the slave clock rate. The synchronization signal receipt time indicated by the correlation sample sequence may be refined by interpolating the correlation sample sequence around a best correlation sample to locate a best interpolation at an interpolation resolution smaller than the sample resolution. The best interpolation may in turn be further refined by estimating between interpolator outputs adjacent to the best interpolation output. The synchronization signal receipt time thus determined is compared to the expected time based upon the slave clock, which is adjusted until the times match. After initialization, all slave clock errors are preferably accumulated to prevent long-term slip between the slave and master clocks. Formerly independent master and slave clocks synchronized across the communication link constitute a noncommon clock which may be compared on each side of the link to secondary independent clocks, and the secondary independent clocks may then be separately synchronized by adjusting one to have the same difference from its local noncommon clock as the secondary clock on the other side of the link has from its local noncommon clock.

Method for correcting pixel defect in image sensing element, and image sensing apparatus using the same

An object of this invention is to provide an image sensing apparatus and image sensing method capable of eliminating a nonvolatile memory for storing position information of a defective pixel, and detecting a defective pixel at high precision even while sensing a complicated object. To achieve this object, there is provided an image sensing apparatus including a solid-state image sensing element having a plurality of pixels which output image sensing signals, a first determination device which determines whether a pixel of interest is a defective pixel candidate, by comparing the signal level of the pixel of interest subjected to defective pixel detection out of the plurality of pixels of the solid-state image sensing element, and the signal levels of a plurality of peripheral pixels around the pixel of interest, and a second determination device which, when the-first determination device determines that the pixel of interest is the defective pixel candidate, determines whether the determination result representing that the pixel of interest is the defective pixel candidate is erroneous detection, on the basis of the determination result of the first determination device representing whether a plurality of peripheral pixels around the pixel of interest are defective pixel candidates.

The invention discloses a paper currency detecting method. A paper currency recognition device is internally provided with an image acquisition unit, a light source and a currency delivering channel, wherein the image acquisition unit and the light source are respectively located on two sides of the currency delivering channel of the paper currency recognition device. The paper currency detecting method comprises the following steps: in a process for delivering a paper currency to be detected through the currency delivering channel, acquiring and processing the full-breadth image of the paper currency by the image acquisition unit through transmission light of the light source, transmitting through the paper currency; extracting anti-counterfeiting feature information from the processed full-breadth image; and judging the authenticity of the paper currency according to the processed image and/or the anti-counterfeiting feature information. The invention further provides a corresponding device. A paper currency detection scheme provided by the invention is beneficial to overcoming of the limitedness of processing with a reflection-type imaging algorithm, and is easy to realize with lower cost and fast and accurate detection, thus, false money can be accurately detected, and particularly, a more obvious effect on the false authentication can be achieved on a changed paper currency; and the paper currency detecting method and device can be used for accurately detecting complementary opposite printing type features of offset printing.

Route Searching Device, Route Searching Method, and Route Searching Processing Program

The present invention provides a route searching device that can detect an optimum route with higher precision, a route searching method, and a route searching program.
The route searching device detects an optimum route among possible routes from a first point to a second point, on the basis of link costs that are set for a plurality of links constituting the possible routes. The route searching device makes at least one of a determination on whether there is a restricting element for restricting the movement of a movable body at the time of moving from the road corresponding to one link to the road corresponding to another link via the connecting portion corresponding to a node to which at least two links are connected, a determination on the number of links connected to the node, a determination on the shape formed with the roads corresponding to the links connected to the connecting portion corresponding to the node, a determination on attributes of at least one of the roads corresponding to the links connected to the node, and a determination on the conditions of the roads. The route searching device then acquires a node cost that represents the difficulty of the movement from the road corresponding to the one link to the road corresponding to the another link, the node cost being in accordance with one or a combination of two or more of factors including the existence of a restricting element, the number of connected links, the shape formed with the roads corresponding to the links, the attributes of the roads, and the conditions of the roads, the factors being on the basis of the determination results of the determining means. On the basis of the link cost and the acquired node cost, the route searching device searches for the optimum route.

Multi-scale analysis and representation of physiological and health data

System comprised of a medical device and method for analyzing physiological and health data and representing the most significant parameters at different levels of detail which are understandable to a lay person and a medical professional. Low, intermediate and high-resolution scales can exchange information between each other for improving the analyses; the scales can be defined according to the corresponding software and hardware resources. A low-resolution Scale I represents a small number of primary elements such as intervals between the heart beats, duration of electrocardiographic PQ, QRS, and QT-intervals, amplitudes of P-, Q-, R-, S-, and T-waves. This real-time analysis is implemented in a portable device that requires minimum computational resources. The set of primary elements and their search criteria can be adjusted using intermediate or high-resolution levels. At the intermediate-resolution Scale II, serial changes in each of the said elements can be determined using a mathematical decomposition into series of basis functions and their coefficients. This scale can be implemented using a specialized processor or a computer organizer. At the high-resolution Scale III, combined serial changes in all primary elements can be determined to provide complete information about the dynamics of the signal. This scale can be implemented using a powerful processor, a network of computers or the Internet. The system can be used for personal or group self-evaluation, emergency or routine physiological monitoring and analysis, or continuous event, stress test or bedside physiological monitoring.
