Abstract

A control circuit and a method for controlling a control circuit (1) is described. The control circuit (1) is connected to at least two electrical loads (2, 3, 4) connected in parallel. An electric melting metal fuse (5, 6, 7) is connected in series with each electrical load. The method comprises the steps of: monitoring the total current provided to the electrical loads (2, 3, 4), and in case the total current from the control circuit (1) during normal operation exceeds a nominal preset current limit, providing one of: a first electric pulse (15) to the loads (2, 3, 4) during a preset first time period at a current which is higher than the nominal preset current limit, and a second electric pulse (16) to the loads (2, 3, 4) during a preset second time period, wherein the current in the second electric pulse (16) is higher than the current in the first electric pulse (15) and wherein the second time period is shorter than the first time period.
