The method comprises the following steps that: a travelling wave electrical quantity of the electric power circuit of the wind power field is collected in real time; whether disturbance occurs is determined according to the travelling wave electrical quantity and the disturbance generation time is recorded; whether the disturbance occurs at the monitored electric power circuit is determined; if so, a disturbance distance is calculated; comparison between the disturbance distance and the last disturbance distance is carried out and whether the two disturbance distances are consistent with each other is determined; if the two disturbance distances are consistent, a time interval of the last two disturbance at the monitored electric power circuit is calculated; the time interval is compared with a preset time interval; and when the time interval is less than the preset time interval, that a fault is going to occur at the monitored electric power circuit is determined and a fault early-warning result is outputted.
