Abstract

The technology relates to a receiving device, a receiving method, a program, and an information processing system configured to provide an application linked to a digital television program by using ACR technology. The receiving device receives AV content, and extracts features from data of the received AV content. The receiving device obtains a recognition result of the recognized AV content by using the ACR technique from the extracted features, and then obtains a command for controlling an operation of an application linked with the AV content based on the obtained recognition result. According to the acquired command, the receiving device controls the operation of the application program. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a television receiver that receives digital television broadcast signals.
