Frequencies of an engine set are regulated through the preset throttle speed curves, so that additional engine sets with different frequencies are not needed; a frequency converter needs not to be mounted on the engine set, so that cost during frequency conversion is reduced. The invention further provides an engine speed control method for the generator set.
